Revd. Bryan Yardy

My name is Bryan and I came to the Settle Circuit in September 2011 with pastoral oversight of the Methodist congregations at High Bentham, Burton-in-Lonsdale, Ingleton and Westhouse.

A native of Yorkshire, I was born and bred in the south of the county in Mexborough, which is between Rotherham and Doncaster.  So it feels as though I'm returning to my geographical roots after five years ministry at my previous appointment in the Ceredigion Circuit, in the beautiful countryside of mid-west Wales.

Prior to ordained ministry I went to theological college in Manchester as a part-time student minister, where I completed an honours degree in Theology and Pastoral Studies.  I also gained some practical insights into pastoral ministry through volunteer chaplaincy work in Doncaster Prison for two years, leading Bible studies for a group of vulnerable young offenders.  Before training for the ministry, I worked at Sheffield Hallam University as an IT Technician and Systems Development Officer.

I am very much a family man and enjoy days out with my wife, teenage son and our Golden Retriever Abby.  I'm also  a keen walker, so you may find me out and about on the local footpaths with Abby, my faithful prayer partner!
